Dortmund-welcome to the largest city in Westphalia

The largest city in the Ruhr was first documented in the year 800 A.D. In the Middle Ages Dortmund was the only free imperial city in Westphalia and one of the most prosperous and important cities in the powerful Hanseatic League. Nowadays Dortmund has everything to make your city trip an adventure: fascinating industrial heritage, a variety of museums and first-class theatre. The Concert Hall here is one of the best in Central Europe. Tip: wander through the Kreuz district and discover the small shops, pubs and cafés.
